Welcome to another Monday morning. I hope this post finds you well and a little excited for Step 3 that starts in a few days.
Mondays are usually my day off, so I get to rest and play a little most of the day. I kind of like sharing a prayer each Monday with you too, though. It's a great way to start my week - centred in God and focused in faith.
I'm wondering what day(s) you take for you during the week. What kinds of things do you do or don't do?
Here's our prayer for today:
On the first day, O God, you began creating. You created such an amazing world that works together and sustains itself. Each day you took the time to be intentional about what to create and you called it good. I thank you for the Sabbath, where we have permission to rest from our work and to connect with you. For those of us who had our Sabbath and the new week begins, help us to sustain our energy for the week ahead. Be within us when unexpected things arise and when we are confronted by others who may not be satisfied with the service we provide. Continue to be within us as we share your grace and mercy in our world, hopefully with all those we encounter. Be with those who are longing for healing, those who are holding onto hope, those who experiencing more darkness than light in their lives, and those who are trying to find their purpose in life. May you shine within us as we are with them. Thank you, O God, for the gift of life. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
